Y Gro (Pvt) Ltd (Ygro) a national NGO was established in 1975. It is registered with Ministry of Social Services and has the charity status.

Activities

Ygro has many interventions and activities with the view of empowering the poor and partners with organization such as SIYB to empower the youth and entrepreneurs in the rural villages of Sri Lanka.

Some of our programs are:

• Jobs and Business Services - Channeling unemployed and under employed youth to appropriate jobs and self-employment.
• Vocational Training - equipping youth with market driven skills for employment and self-employment.
• Credit guidance & Business Training - Providing entrepreneurially inclined persons with training in partnership with SIYB and assisting them in sourcing seed capital to finance setting up and improving their business.
• Micro enterprise development - providing loans through Ygro’s revolving loan scheme to make capital available in the hands of the poor to start and develop their business.
• Dairy development program - Working with rural farmers providing with necessary trainings and linkages to make their dairy farm a sustainable business enterprise.

Ygro works with the rural poor and resettling communities with no bias to religion, race, language or any social divide. The only bias Ygro has is its concern for the poor and vulnerable.
